Marcus Christian’s plans? His aim is to keep bringing great electronic dance music to Worcester County, making it as accessible as other genres like rock and metal already are around here. In the past year, he’s organized several events in Central MA and worked closely with Brendan Robichaud of Seven Lounge on the club’s entertainment and event planning.
“For me personally, I would like to continue making my name and DTD’s one that people from different walks of life recognize and want to support. It has never been about the attention or anything self-serving, but always for the right reasons.”
If Marcus could work with any DJ or artist? “I would say Carl Cox or Donald Glaude. Being of color, I have always respected those guys because they definitely went against the grain to reach their levels of success. Someday I hope to influence as many people as they have.”
So with enough talent to be spinnin’ anywhere, what keeps DJ Marcus here? “Everything starts for me in Worcester. I am able to bring talent in from all over New England, NYC and even Great Britain to this city. That is why I do this. I love to turn someone on to a new DJ or sound. That is my job as a DJ and even as a promoter, at least as I see it. As I meet people in and around New England, they get to know me as a DJ and part of the company in Central MA that throws events. I have not seen too much interest paid to the EDM scene by local media, and I think that Worcester has a lot more to offer than most people are aware of. I want to make them aware in a positive way.”
EDM is here to stay…and now it has a voice in Central MA in Marcus Christian and DTD Productions. So get out the house, check them out, and get your dance on!
