Pulse’s Playlist for Hottest Clubwear
By Sasha Fastovskiy
That’s right, ladies and gents. The time has come to talk about fierce, fly and freaky-deaky clubwear. With the newly hoppin’ and poppin’ plethora of late-night adventure hotspots in and around Worcester, it’s no surprise that local boutiques are stocking up on tighter, brighter and shorter fashions. Rightly so ~ the short-shorts and busty tops are being sported past each bouncer and shown off to every bartender. However, it appears that some confused party goers have taken their style right past MIA and into the olden days of TLC. Therefore, before you shake it like a Polaroid picture and sip Bacardi like it’s your birfday, let’s brush up on the clubbiest of club fashion.
Now I Ain’t Sayin’ She a Gold-digger
I don’t know why, but some fashion floozies think that seven chains, 11 bracelets and “diamond” rings on each finger is classy. This is a lie. Unless there’s a house fire, there’s no reason to pile on all the jewelry when leaving the house. In fact, it looks more slammin’ when a few pieces are added to highlight the outfit. Pile on similar (not identical) necklaces for a funkier, edgier look, or stick to simple chains for a more upscale style.
Get Low, Get Low, Get Low, Etc.
Clubs are the one place outside of the beach where shorter is better. Show off those legs in thigh-high dresses and high heeled shoes designed to elongate. Still not feelin’ like Naomi? Longer skirts with tighter tops are classic, and beachy bohemian is easy and flirty.
Big Things Poppin’
While it’s okay to show off a little bit when out on the town, it’s also important to keep it in proportion to what you’re wearing. Flaunt one aspect more than the others. If you’re parading your tanned legs, put the girls away for a rainy day.
Hot In Herre
When you’re in da club, it can get sweaty dancing and gyrating to all those funky fresh beats. Instead of normal daywear-esque layers, go for lighter fabrics that don’t mind perspiration and are still touchable. Feel like you’re missing some of your fashion flare? Try dusting glitter on clothes, collarbones, corners of your eyes and legs. It’ll catch the light and you’ll practically be a glorious human disco ball.
Lose Yourself
Keep most accessories to a minimum. You’ll have nowhere to put the purses, no place to hang your furs and particularly long lines to the ladies room will postpone your makeup touchups. Going out and dancing should be just that ~ a less than frilly affair. Keep your clothes simpler as well. It’s best to opt for solids, details and sheens over crazy patterns.
There we have it! The most badass and bustin’ way to kick up the usual evening dress code. Now, make like Beyonce and be crazy in love and get the naughty boy of your dreams.
