Take mouthwatering treats plus just-as-mouthwatering drinks and what you do you get? Allgos, Worcester’s original dessert lounge and bar.

Located at 58 Shrewsbury St. Allgos has a “coffee house sort of feel” with “a little bit of everything,” according to owner Naat (Natchi) Paiva. But as the 25-year-old, who is Worcester’s youngest sole proprietor to have a liquor license, explains, “There is a spin on everything.”

With a full bar at their disposal, the bartenders create anything from specialty martinis (cappuccino, crème brulee, and NY cheesecake) to drinks created from eight unique infusions including flavors like mojito, cucumber chive, and Jameson and potato. The drink menu is filled with fun names and catch-lines including a blue-colored martini that, as Paiva and bartender Joe Prendergast explain jokingly, “…makes a Smurfette lose her inhibitions.” The bar also offers wines and a large selection of fine ports and single malt scotches.

For the caffeine lovers there are import coffees and teas: 100% Colombian and loose teas such as chamomile and Moroccan mist, flavored coffees including almond, coconut, blueberry and orange, and other beverages like espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, and mochaccinos.

The very reasonably-priced sweets are tantalizing ~ even their descriptions sound delicious! The standout dessert ~ and a boss favorite ~ is the Tres Leches Cake, a Latin dessert created by Worcester’s Blue Hydrangea. This amazing dessert is a moist white cake served with fresh fruit compote that has been macerated in rum. Another favorite of Paiva’s is the Chocolate Fondant, a chocolate layer cake filled with rich chocolate cream, covered with chocolate ganache and rimmed with chocolate flakes.

Other must-try desserts include ripieni (flavored sorbet ~ orange, pineapple, and coconut ~ served in its own shell), limoncello and cappuccino truffles, and a selection of cheesecakes.

Open Tuesday – Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Allgos is the ideal place to go with friends and unwind because at Allgos, “Anything goes.”
