I first off nominate Sam James. He works so hard and is so underestimated! He truly has a voice that has the ability to bring you to your knees, not to mention he plays the guitar as if it is an extension of his body and soul. I know someday we will be watching Sam James crank one hit after another, but until then I will sit in smoky bars to catch his melodic voice any night of the week I can! One more artist that I will watch even if no one else keeps me company…..Jon Short. Both of these artists, though very different in genres, both light me up when I listen to them and Jon Short’s saucy blues make me hot….witnesses will attest.
I would like to nominate Mellissa (Melle) Rouabhia for being the most bubbly, enegergetic, spontaneous, dip making, hair dying, jello shot sharing, band supporting, good bar tipping broad in woosta county. All in the mix is wicked good and I fully support eating more of it.
Bruce Warila, a local investor and entrepeneur is my nominee. He has been involved in many successful endeavors the past several years in the business and entertainment industries. However his current project just might jettison him to success on a national or worldwide level if everything comes together this coming year.
Along with being the financial and driving force behind the band Jediah, Bruce just launched an internet company called Songboost, a revolutionary way for artists and bands to market their songs.
Bruce and everyone connected to both Songboost and Jediah are expecting 2007 to be a hugely successful year. Jediah’s long anticipated Studio CD “Flight”, recorded at Longview Studios, in which Bruce was a past investor and major player, was just released and is available at Jediah.com, and soon on itunes. Bruce can be reached at bruce@songboost.com.
I nominate Bruce Warila of Lancaster, MA. Not only is he the financial backer and driving force behind the local rock band JEDIAH, but he has recently started a song promoting record label that is fueled by innovative software and promotion. The label, SONGboost, can be viewed at SONGboost.com. Bruce, now 42 years young, has a track record a mile long. One of them being Co-partner and CEO of the Legendary Longview Studios in North Brookfield. The list goes on and on. Very innovative guy. He is definitely someone to look for in 2007.
I would like to nominate my brother Brian Killelea for his website www.wcmp.org. The site lets people create a memorial by loading pictures, videos, audio, and stories of their friend or family member buried at the cemetery. It’s the first cemetery in the world to use technology like this! I work on the site and read the comments people leave and it has meant so much to them. One family posted audio of a grandfather playing with his grandson in 1983. It was so heartwarming. They love the idea so much that they offered to share it with others visiting the site. The stories and pictures that people post are also going to mean so much to children who lose their parents or grandparents because they will get to know them even better. Since this generation is so into myspace and blogs its so awesome for them to have this site. It definitely has to be seen because everyone who looks at it loves the idea. We get emails everyday from people who think this is the best site they have ever seen! Articles of it have been written by the Telegram, Landmark, and through International Cemetery Organizations. They developed the site from scratch and now they are marketing and licensing it all over the world. When Brian first told me about the idea for the website I never imagined it would be this huge but it has to be seen by everyone!
Melle Rouabhia is definitely one to watch! At the young age of 26, she has incredible independent business sense with her creations of spices and dips as well as managing a handful of local bands. Her spice dips website, www.allinthemix.com shows her creativity in business along with her admirable drive. Go Melle!
It seems as though some people are voting for themselves and its pretty evident of that. However, I would like to add a REAL nomination for Tianna Ta, one of Worcester’s finest models, who seems to be taking off. She’s doing alot that other people aren’t so my vote goes to her…plus, she’s not too bad on the eyes!
I hope that’s not pertaining to me, cuz all my nominations are real
🙁
I’d like to nominate Jimmy Kang, because he’s got the local night life popping, and he’s still doing his thing with STR8UP Ent., his artists are always featured on JAMN 945…….thats the man to look out for in Mass
I would like to nominate Jordan Litke from of Holy Cross. She interned for Mayor Tim Murray of Worcester’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor this past year and did a great job working for his campaign that helped him get elected! She is a 20 year old junior at Holy Cross majoring in political science and economics. I think she interned this fall also with Senator Brian Joyce in Boston and for World Energy Solutions, an energy brokerage firm in Worcester. Someone to definitely look out for in the world of Worcester politics in the upcoming year! contact is jordanlitke@gmail.com
