Coral to Move It looks like Coral Seafood will be moving off
of Green Street and down to Shrewsbury Street. Coral has been on Green
Street for over twenty years. The long anticipate move will happen after
construction of the new restaurant in the old Lawless Cadillac building.
Coral will be sub-leasing some space to Starbucks Coffee, which will be
opening its 3rd store in the city. Coral is closing its restaurant and
owners Jimmy and Georgia Voyatsis will take a little time off. Coral owns
another branch in Marlboro.

Coral space will be occupied by Green Bamboo, a Vietnamese Restaurant.
Green Street seems to be becoming the Little Saigon of Worcester, with
numerous Vietnamese restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Green Bamboo
will feature traditional Vietnamese hot pot dishes ~ food cooked all in
one pot.

And Speaking of Green Street Block 5 recently opened
its doors in the space once occupied by Dukes, a run-down bar. The restaurant
is owned by Mike Covino, Mike Desrosiers, Kevin Luddy and Steve Champagne.
All previously worked at either the Sole Proprietor or the 111 Chop House.
Block 5 is named after its location on the official city map. The restaurant,
located at 139 Green Street, is painted in modern colors celery &
black. It will be open seven days a week and is positioning itself as
a modern American Bistro.

Castellana’s The upscale Italian eatery will soon
open its doors at 90 Harding Street in the old Patrick Motors building.
The restaurant will have about 80 seats and is owned by Bill Chase and
his son Stephen, who just happens to have been a chef for the New England
Patriots. In fact, Tom Brady was spotted in the space in early September.

Amore Café Sold Amore Café, owned by David
and Susan Roy, recently closed but has been bought by a group that includes
John Piccolo, owner of Piccolo’s, an Italian restaurant already
on Shrewsbury Street. Piccolo’s plans for the space were unclear
when we went to press.

Happy Birthday Tweeds on Grove Street in Worcester is
celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. This pub, owned by Jim Donoghue,
has set the standard for good food at reasonable prices. East Side BBQ
The east side of Worcester finally has a barbeque joint. Sticky Fingers
Barbeque Grille recently opened under City Lights at 395 Grafton Street.
Sticky Fingers features bbq chicken, pulled pork and St Louis ribs as
well as burgers and pizza. The restaurant is owned by Mark Webber.

It’s in Black and White. Pomeroy’s Black
& White in Spencer was recently purchased by Richard Dumphy. Dumphy,
who used to work at Friendly’s and Christo’s in Worcester,
plans on keeping the ice cream portion of the business. He also plans
on going a little upscale with the menu while keeping quite a few of the
old menu items which made this place a hit for about forty years.
