Who’s minding the range? We hear the Earl Llana has left his position as Executive Chef at Bergson’s 1790 House, located on Route 9 in Westboro. So far there is no word on where he’s headed or who is running the show at Bergson’s. Llana has been at Bergson’s for a couple of years and is given much of the credit for turning the place around.

Shaker’s has new owner, new name. Shaker’s Pub, which recently closed, was purchased by new owners Paul & Cynthia Curley and has a new name. Located in Kelly Square, the bar will now be called the Greyhound Pub. It could become a new hangout for all those Assumption College students who frequent the bars along Park Avenue.

Coffee on the Common in Paxton was sold by Jodi Bagdis to Ilir Konda. According to our sources, Konda, who is a recent immigrant from Albania, plans on keeping the same concept as the former owner, serving breakfast & lunch daily and dinner occasionally. Jodi Bagdis has owned Coffee on the Common in the center of town for about 15 years.

Amore is fickle. The on again, off again sale of Amore Cafe on Shrewsbury Street to John Piccolo, owner of Shrewsbury St.’s eponymous Piccolo’s, seems to have fallen through. But word has it that Glickman Realty, who is marketing the site, has another buyer ready to sign on the dotted line.

What’s your sign? The Zodiac Café recently opened at 50 Lake Ave in Worcester. The café serves breakfast and lunch and features panini sandwiches. It also serves coffee, latte, cappuccino, espresso and pastry and is open seven days a week until seven with later hours on weekends. Owner Joe Martins plans to offer music in the future.

From Sub Asia to Southeast Asia. House of India at 439 Park Avenue in Worcester is gone, but a new Vietnamese restaurant, Anh Thu, has opened in its place. That puts it just a few doors down from Da Lat, another Vietnamese restaurant.

Speaking of Park Avenue. Quizno’s Subs on Park Ave. in Worcester has new owners. They are brothers Andrew and Mathew Engdahl of Holden. The two have a long history in the restaurant business; their late grandfather, Larry Evagelista, was a former owner of the Parkway Diner on Shrewsbury Street and, along with wife Angela, also owned D’Errico’s Market on the opposite corner of Shrewsbury Street. D’Errico’s is still in the family and the Parkway is still run by Larry’s brother John.

More Moe’s. Moe’s Southwest Grill will open its second area location shortly. It will be opening at the site of the former Bickford’s in Webster Square in Worcester. The building has been vacant for about a year, ever since Bickford’s closed its doors. Some will remember this location as the former home of Abdow’s Big Boy. Maybe they can put the big boy back, but with a sombrero.
