Raising the curtain on 30 years

Foothills Theatre to kick off it’s Anniversary season with Forever Plaid

September 2004 – Foothills Theatre Company is about to kick off its 2004-2005 season at full throttle.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the theatre and its productions, Foothills has many offerings for everyone starting in late September.

The 2004-2005 season will open with the audience favorite Forever Plaid on September 30. This laugh-out-loud comedic musical follows four angels who return to earth to seek out their dreams of glory.

From October 28 to November 28, the theatre will present The Perfect Crime. It is one of the longest running plays to ever hit the stage in New York, on and off Broadway. From the writer of such great screenplays as Clue, Warren Mintz captures the essence of the murder mystery in this classic whodunit. The Perfect Crime is guaranteed to be a suspenseful thriller.

Beginning November 26, Foothills celebrates the Holiday season with a production of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. The well known story follows Ebenezer Scrooge on a spectral journey to find the true meaning of Christmas in Victorian England.

The theatre starts the New Year off with To Kill A Mockingbird. This adaptation of the highly acclaimed novel by Harper Lee portrays the adventures of Atticus Finch, a Southern lawyer in the era of the Depression, who defends his children from prejudice and an innocent black man from a justice system corrupted by hate.

Do not miss the 11-time Tony Award-nominated production, Miss Saigon, which will run from March 3 to April 10. An American soldier and a Vietnamese girl find love and struggle to keep it aflame in this famous musical set in Saigon during the Vietnam War.

Rounding Third, a comedic ode to baseball and family produced by Richard Dresser, and the Disney hit Beauty and the Beast will close out the season.

In other news, Foothills has initiated a theatre membership campaign. According to Bob Dolan, Associate Producer at Foothills, members will be eligible to watch shows from a VIP lounge, as well as enjoy other amenities that will be offered throughout the season. The membership is open to all and is one of the most important changes that the theatre has instituted in the past years.

Foothills has a lot to offer its patrons throughout its upcoming 2004-2005 season and welcomes you to come to enjoy the show. Foothills Theatre is located on the Foothills Courtyard, off Commercial Street at the Worcester Common Outlets in downtown Worcester. Parking is available in the Common Outlets garage.
