Are you interested in celebrating the culturally diverse community of Worcester?  The Vietnamese community proudly invites you to celebrate the second annual Vietnamese New Year celebration Sunday, Feb. 4, at the Chandler Magnet School, 525 Chandler St., Worcester.

The event will start at noon and conclude at 5 p.m..  The Vietnamese New Year has a free admission and promises a family-friendly festival filled with food, fun, health screenings and a look into the Vietnamese culture!  The function will include performances from local and national singers, youth dancers, martial art groups and more.  There will also be a traditional Vietnamese Ancestor ceremony, along with other Vietnamese traditions, to commemorate the special day.

T?t, or Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is the most celebrated event in Vietnamese culture.  T?t is considered to be the first day of spring based on the lunisolar calendar and celebrates a fresh start for the new year.  This holiday is a chance to honor ancestors and spend time with family.  With Worcester having one of the largest Vietnamese communities in Massachusetts, the community wishes to promote and preserve Vietnamese traditions.
